There was no garage, no specialised equipment or big budget. Instead, there was something much more important: a great love of literature and technology.
Our adventure began on 1 March 2009 in Wrocław (Poland) as a response to the needs of readers who wanted something more from books. Which is exactly what we did. Initially, we only distributed eBook eReaders.
However, we knew full well that the experience we had gained and our knowledge of the Polish market would allow us to introduce our own products tailored to the needs of every reader - with no exceptions. And with this in mind, we created the inkBOOK brand. Thus we became the second in the European arena, and the first - and so far the only - Polish manufacturer of eBook eReaders.
After months of preparation, analysis and consultation - we were ready to show Polish readers what we had been working so hard on. The first model to appear under the inkBOOK banner was the 6" Prime model.
- The release of our original product gave us great wings and motivation to continue. We realised that there was still a long way to go, but the reception of the first product by users only confirmed that we had chosen the right direction in 2009 - recalls Chief Executive Officer of InkBOOK Europe, Paweł Horbaczewski.
In the following years we successively put into the hands of eReaders (and not only eReaders) more and more modern models of our products. Devices such as Prime HD, Focus or Calypso Plus, among others, have gone down in our history not only as bestsellers beloved by our Readers, but also as models confirming the quality that goes hand in hand with our brand.
Thanks to the trust placed in us by Polish book lovers, we decided to try our hand abroad. And it was another step in the right direction. As a result, inkBOOK eReaders have reached Australia, or even the Middle East, and invariably they also delight readers in Germany, Spain, the Netherlands, France or the Czech Republic.
We are proud that as a Polish company, for almost 15 years we have been able to support Readers in their e-reading adventure.
